Of all Sil's victims, this is the one you don't feel the least bit bad for. Unfortunately for this guy, he decides to turn into a rapey douchebag when Sil asks him - very nicely! - to drive her home. She brazenly peels off her top in the middle of the club and slips away with the guy they were fighting over. After de-spining a rival in the restroom, Sil finally takes full advantage of her astonishing physical beauty. The quintessential moment in her development, however, comes in a nightclub scene. Sil does quite a lot of seducing in the movie (not to mention its abysmal sequel) but most of those scenes are a little too graphic to include here. A tryst with this irresistible beauty is easy to obtain, but it carries with it the heaviest of penalties. Characters caught up in Sil's single-minded pursuit become the ultimate synthesis of wish fulfillment and morality tale.
This lethal but nevertheless naive and vulnerable human-alien hybrid was driven not by malevolence, but rather an undeniable need to reproduce at any cost. But it was the 21-year-old Henstridge who came out of nowhere to deliver a perfect (and, yes, often nude) performance as the fully matured Sil. Species also had a plausible, science-based setup, fantastic pacing and a great cast featuring Michael Madsen, Ben Kingsley, Forest Whitaker, Marg Helgenberger and a pre-Dawson's Creek Michelle Williams as the younger Sil. Giger-designed creature that was vastly more outlandish than the ones in the Alien movies. Species was notable for several things, not least among them an H.R. It's impossible to think of alien seductions and not think of Natasha Henstridge straddling a lovelorn Alfred Molina just before his post-coital bliss is permanently ruined. Sil:Come on, we all knew Species had to be number one.
